Alice Temperley, MBE
Alice Temperley, MBE was born in England in 1975 and trained at London’s Central Saint Martin’s College of Art, followed by a Masters degree at the Royal College of Art. Besides thorough training in traditional disciplines, Temperley also specialised in fabric technology and print.
Alice founded her eponymous label Temperley London in 2000; a year after graduating from the Royal College of Art and continues to head up the creative direction of the British, independent brand as it enters its twentieth year of business.
Temperley Bridal, which launched in 2006, is defined by an ethereal, timeless silhouette and is inspired by the romance and decadence of a bygone era. Alice pioneers artisan techniques and intricate hand-worked embellishment; an aesthetic synonymous with her creative style.
Bridal is where Alice Temperley’s training in textiles shines brightest. Artisanal techniques mix with new technologies, hand worked crystal bugle beads contrast with sculptural satin duchesse. Each dress is treated as a work of art; each bride is revered as an individual soul. The only common thread is a true sense of romance - and a bohemian willingness to flout the rules.
